! I am taking the steps to make a difference.

I have never taken on any kind of challenge before that didn't
benifit just me, until now! I am walking in the Avon Breast Cancer
3-day Walk in Seattle, Washington in August. I chose this event because I wanted to do something that will make a difference. It is something that has made me step outside my comfort zone so that I can help others through my hard work and the donations I have and will receive. I have put my heart and soul into this wonderful challenge and I am enjoying it.

I know it is hard to hear these statistics but they are very true for everyone.

First the good news: Today, there are two million breast cancer survivors in the US.

The bad news: There are over 1,000,000 women in the United States with undetected breast cancer, many of which can’t afford to go to a doctor to be checked- they probably won't know for another five to eight years.

70% of these women have no risk factors for breast cancer. Many don’t even know they should be checked.

A woman's chance of having breast cancer during her lifetime is one
in eight. Your chance of knowing this woman is almost 100%.

I am walking 60 miles in 3 days to help get these women on the survivor list.

Your donation is fully tax deductible. When you consider how much to
donate, please keep in mind how far I've committed to walk for this
cause, and how many hours I'll be putting into fundraising and
training. My commitment is quite high.

You can make a donation at the web site: www.bethepeople.com/avon_3days/events_3day_se.htm.
Click on "Make an online donation". My participant # is 9642.

I thank you for taking the time to read my mission. I will continue to update my journey through the end of the walk.

Please sign my guest book.
Your support and words of encouragement are always needed and welcome.
